Transformation is everybody’s reality and organisations and leaders often find themselves in ’transformation fatigue’. What can be done to alleviate this overwhelm and how can we address these challenges with more human centred leadership ? 

Who Cares?

In a world of constant change and flux, it is more necessary than ever for employees, including leaders, to feel their work is both purposeful and valued, yet too many of us feel nobody cares at work. If lack of employee engagement is the symptom that leaders are trying to alleviate, then the cure needs to be focused around making the case for care and compassion.

I really disconnected over Christmas – for one of the first times ever – from digital, from daily life, and from others, and enjoyed a profound re-connection with myself and nature.

I still remember my love/hate relationship with learning to play the cello – always wanting to be ‘good enough’ to play pieces of music, but constantly getting bored and feeling downhearted about the amount of time and effort it took to play the notes in tune. It was a constant dance between perfection and creativity, trying to reach the middle ground and find flow, but with enough discipline and effort to make it creative.
